Guam-Governor Felix Camacho put pen to paper earlier today....making it a done deal with the Bank of Guam for the 20 million dollar loan needed for the first payment of the Dandan landfill.
Guam Economic Development Authority Administrator Tony Blaz says the loan process was a long exhaustive effort, but having it signed is good news for everyone. Blaz adds GEDA is awaiting orders from the district court on how to deposit the money by Monday.
While the Governor made the loan deal official, he still needs to act on 33 bills that have made it to his desk. among those measures is bill 397, which authorizes emergency financing options for the Guam Waterworks Authority, as well as Bill 248...that measure would create a 3 year pilot program for 7 charter schools on island. Camacho must also decide if airport personnel are getting pay raises described in bill 384 and if the Merizo library will be renamed the Rosa Aguigui Reyes library, in honor of Guam's first congresswoman.
