indeed. but i was mearly pointing out how fucking fast mike must go to get a higher count using a slower technique

thats basically what a double stroke roll is.
if your using your wrist your doing it wrong.
it will also take you longer to develop speed if you use your wrist.

What about volume and clarity? Check out my video. I play about three to four times higher off of the drum while playing twenty to thirty beats faster. The benefits of the Moeller Method.

Man you're TENSE! I suggest you go practise the freestroke and try getting your doubles perfect at 60 bmp

now seeing as how mike miangi can do more with a single stroke roll i am thruroughly amazed. i had to idea he was going that fast

He goes amazingly fast, that's sure.
But I'm more impressed with tom grosset clarity.
Now,single and a double roll don't have the same musical signification and use in context.
Solomoreno is right a double stroke roll is about volume, clarity and speed.

thats not a double stroke roll. your just bouncing the stick.

that is a strange comment....bouncing is the physical explanation of percussion...off course I'm bouncing the stick (two times each end)....just listen to the quality of the double stroke roll, and comment. If you don't use enough wrist, the second note of the double is weaker,is it?
