Just a little video to show the difference between being on or off boost. Starting in 2nd gear with a 2.73 diff ratio from a standing start. Watch the tacho as the turbo starts to wind up, you can hear the change in exhaust note. This car is only running a touch over 1bar and making 308rwkw.

  • This is a better example of boost threshold rather than lag really.

  • @saintluke87

As stated before it's a bit of poor wording on my part, but most people call it turbo lag anyway. This video actually shows boost threshold, i started in second as first gear is to short to demonstrate this.

  • better go get a v8 then

  • @falcon96kickass

done anything more to your xr6t yet mate?, same model and gearbox as mine. The new supercharged GT would be sweet no way could i afford one.

  • hate to contradict you but this isn't turbo lag. being in the wrong gear especially low revs your car will not perform. regardless of induction type.

  • this has fuck all to do with turbo lag.

  • @TasteMyDBolts dunno where you got that last bit of info from but i've had mine at 220km/h and no pinging, you may need to see another tuner if your car is pinging like that, or do you not actually own one and are going off second hand info? and most of the v8's i've raced have had me off the start due to almost instant torque and a 4spd auto whereas mine is a 6spd manual so 1st is really short, once i'm in 2nd it's game over though.

  • @galbmw it does have a heavy clutch and the steering is quite precise, but i have coil-overs and sway bar on the front and adjustable dampeners on the rear with heavy duty springs. so for a ute it's pretty well a road going race car. the sedans have independent rears and are quite nice to drive as well. as I said much fun and highly recommended

  • @GS315ish so its a fun and easy car to drive. damn i kinda prefer hard tight heavy feel cars haha. pretty much road going race cars with heavy cxlutches and steering wheels

  • @galbmw they are a great car for a daily driver, my ute has 326rwkw but you can cruise around off boost and it's tame as, once you put the boot in she kicks out the ass end and before you know it you are traveling along at a great rate of knots. Much fun I highly recommend it, LOL.

  • @bnz500 what a joke I6 turbo will smash off the line quicker than most if not all v8s only thing with 6s is you start pinging around 180-200kms while the v8 keeps powering on

  • @Antifaith29 Keep laughing mate

  • @bnz500 Nah, im laughing.

  • @Antifaith29 u seem upset

  • @bnz500 You're an idiot. You sound like the kind of smart arse that mouthes off and doesnt even own a car let alone an 8.
