Hip hop is more of a culture that encompasses rap, rap or rapping is just when you rhyme over music its musical poetry. there are more elements to Hip hop than jsut rapping.. Hip hop encludes elements such as djing, MCing, Graffing, Breaking dancing and Knowledge. both jay-z and Em are rap/recording artist. im not sure why espn would have the seperation , but maybe thats what the artists wanted when that was ran.

@coltfan15 I always considered Hip hop to be more of dancing and club music. While rap music has a theme and a message to give. (DEPENDING on the artist of each genre respectively)

I dont get it. For Jay-Z, it says "Hip-Hop Artist" and for Eminem it says "Rapper/Actor." Whats the difference between a Hip-Hop Artist and a Rapper?

You could never do this at a hockey game. Baseball is PERFECT to have music artists talk about their concerts. Sure beats the game.
