speaking as the son of a proud ulsterwoman who was born in belfast, brought up in chicago and died in england and was also protestant, can i say that i have heard this song played on jukeboxes in loyalist bars in northern ireland by members of flute bands returning from marches. i think it is wrong for you to think that such people do not recognise the suffering of the famine.
