When this Tesla coil was fired, the girl holding the rod felt a shock because some people have nerve endings close to the skin, which means you can feel the shock. It's quite safe.

Taken during the Physics, Civil and Mechanical engineering excursion at the University of Western Australia.

  • ok.... just because he built a stereotypical tesla coil does not mean he is dumb what so ever. and have you even thought that maybe pancake coils aren't as efficient as cylindrical coils? and id be surprised if u even knew what a conical coil was >_> regardless your a little mis understanding.

  • Dude, chill out!

  • @yeaalrightiamawake She got shocked. The title isn't misleading :-P

  • @yeaalrightiamawake Did someone get electrocuted? No. Did someone get shocked? Yes.

  • @hvrtguys your stupid...you have no idea how tesla coils work

  • Then you get older and you find that you have cataracts and some unexplained pains in your joints or ligaments.

  • Why all the dislikes?...

  • You can get RF burns from Tesla coils but as long as it doesn't reach the ground it's fairly safe and people including Tesla have sat on top of them turned on. It's still probably sort of dangerous but they shouldn't have allowed it to go through her to the ground. Then it has a power arc that's higher energy and is dangerous. The most dangerous part is the primary coil which if a large capacitor is used could easily kill you. Pancake coils are more efficient but if it's a big coil they aren't.

  • @oIPoiiZo They can burn, I have had shocks from mine and it hurts! Its the mains component of the streamer thats the most dangerous.

  • I heard the tesla coils dont shock you, they burn you

  • actually, the pancake Tesla coil was long before this variation of the Tesla coil. Tesla did not often use conical coils, and the pancake coil is relatively weak compared to these types.

  • This video is fool!!!!!
