Disney Soundscapes: Main Street USA

This video, and all the others to come in the Disney Soundscapes series, is dedicated with love to my dear, dear friend Graham. This is for you buddy. :-)

Nothing of what you will hear is live of real. Its all source audio, and sound effects, but combined to sound like you are really there. I realize that it would be alot easier to post a live recording of MSUSA, but by creating the soundscape completely in the computer, it gives one more control over what is heard and what is not. So, I was able to boil the sounds of MSUSA down to its most basic, and it sounds pretty realistic, if I do say so myself.

And there is actual thought put into the video and the way you hear things. For example, the video is meant to sound like you are walking down MSUSA. So, as you get closer to the end of the video, you are approaching the castle and main hub. So, the crowd sounds get less and less crowded sounding cause as you approach the hub, the walkways open up, and there is more space. Also, people are heading off into the various lands of the MK, so the soundscape reflects that.

The video is intentionally black. I was gonna put video or pictures of MSUSA to go along with the audio, but it always looked cheesy or hokey. And plus, the imagination can create images that are far more powerful than what someone else can show you. Plus, everyone has their own images of Main Street, and a certain path they may take down the street.

omg im sorry but, if its not to much trouble do u mind making more of these for... every part of disneyland?! well, adleast some parts you think would be good. you see, im typing down the stories of my adventures in disneyland and i needed some help on inspiration. i know im asking alot, please help, because even when im not typing i want to listen to this awsome music and beautiful sound effects.

awesome... one suggestion though...how about an occasional train whistle in the beginning portions of the video as you do hear that! otherwise super audio!

It makes me want to go back. I never paid a terrible amount of attention to Main Street USA. It always felt like the most mundane section of the park; the part you had to go through in order to get to where all the good stuff was located. I have had a change of heart since then. I could spend a whole day on Main Street.
