Excellent. So rarely do I see viable techniques (don't want to name certain styles)...but this is quite good. Reminds me of the intensity with some of the Kenpo folks :)
i like the blocking with the elbow and clinch and knees but any one swinging like that i think would get put to sleep fast not saying me but looks like something should change a little bit
not a bad drill. may i suggest though, not grabbing the neck? If you grab the crown of the head, it creates more leverage in which you can control your opponent better. By grabbing the neck you allow your opponent to "head up" and nullify your clinch.
These drills illustrate Sifu's sagacious approach to training due to a clarity achieved through decades of training coupled with logical evaluation. This is another reason why I train with Sifu; to gain exposure to these training methods plus explore my limitations.
Awesome video Sifu. I like the concept of three separate drills, each with unique points of emphasis, illustrating a common attitude that links them together.
I agree, I'll take a man with a strong mindset over a man with just a skill-set any day. The crazy man, killer, survive and overcome mentallity has proven it can beat trained blackbelts that don't have it. Never Quit. Never give up. Always Victorious. ADD skill-set to that and you have what we're talkin about!
Truly awesome! Joseph, I think you're onto something here. I ESPECIALLY like the way you stress attitude -- in this case, fighting attitude. Bruce Lee talked about this in connection with hitting the heavy bag with attitude. He advised not being complacent about the training. He wanted you to psyche yourself out and pretend like your bag-hitting was the real thing. Good clip!

Excellent development of attitude and muscle memory in a safe environment. Intense conditioning combined with a nice dose of whoop ass!
