Payam Akhavan is a law professor at McGill University and a former member of the board of directors at the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development.

David Matas has a private practice in refugee, immigration and human rights law. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Matas, an Order of Canada recipient, was a director of the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development.
