FAME THE MUSICAL is back. CATS MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY is thrilled to present FAME THE MUSICAL. Opening June 3, 2010 at Theatre Passe Muraille Toronto audiences are being offered the chance to revisit a classic of cinema, television and music theatre. It is nothing short of a global phenomenon!!

Originally based on the award-winning 1980 movie, then a long-running television series and even a reality show, the musical follows the lives of a group of young students at New Yorks High School for Performing Arts. Follow their inspiring journey as they aim to be the best actors, dancers, and musicians around - a journey of laughter, tears, heartache and romance. Filled with breathtaking routines and unforgettable songs this Broadway hit celebrates its 10th Anniversary, marking a decade where 4 million people have enjoyed the eternally inspiring story of the kids from New York.

This production of FAME THE MUSICAL brings together talented students from across Toronto. Known for the skill of its actors and beautifully designed and crafted sets, costumes, props and music, CATS MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY showcases talented teens, many of whom go on to some of the best university and college theatre programs in the country.

Based in Toronto, CATS MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY is an acting company dedicated in teaching and developing a passion for theatre at a professional level. Providing talented, passionate young people with the opportunity to study and perform under the guidance of Gina Anki, CEO & Artistic Director and a multitude of professional musicians, choreographers and actors. Past productions include West Side Story, Grease, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Les Miserables, School Edition.
