This problem is now sorted! There were a couple of plastic bits from a shirt collar that I guess were jamming the pump. After removing them it's gone through a washing cycle without an issue :-D

I'm amazed that just 2 small bits of plastic would cause such a noisy problem, but if you get the same kind of thing happening then it's worth a look (check your manual).

Big thanks to a fellow YouTube-er, Rob, for suggesting I checked the front access area for the pump.

  • wow all that noise from an 800rpm spin...imagine if you had selected 1200:P

  • It was a bit of plastic (off a shirt collar) that was making a lot of noise in that intake pump. Once I removed it, problem solve :-D
