This is an examination of some of the common claims heard from mostly conservative/Republican sources regarding domestic drilling and gasoline prices. These are just a few among many points to address this notion.

  • Government is more costly and far more inefficient than the free market. It should get out of the business of energy and let the States and free markets decide what energy we use. Not Washington. Ultimately Federal energy controls & subsidies will leave us with costs that are not affordable for many, less domestic energy and more dependent on foreign energy with the probability of an eventual war where human lives are lost out weighing any environmental concerns of domestic production.

  • @2caminos So, you don't have anything to say about what is actually in the video. We subsidized oil at its outset, and still subsidizes it. Subsidies seem to be a good working model for other countries. the problem is, eventually we are going to have to have other forms of energy within our infrastructure. The government has no choice but address that issue. That's why all the other major countries in the world are doing so.

  • I see you support the liberal agenda. Maybe you can buy a car like the Government subsidized Volt, costing tax payers billions of dollars, and is still too costly that no one wants to buy and power it the most expensive green energy on the Planet, Solar, like the other Government subsidized companies like Solyndra, now bankrupt costing tax payers more than $500 BILLION! Why don't you all quit being hypocrites about your carbon foot prints etc..and just go live in a cave and let the economy grow.

  • @2caminos actually, I am not even sure what the 'liberal agenda' is. I am just presenting the truth. i notice you were not able to present one single argument against anything that is actually put forth in the vid, Solyndra did not cost taxpayers 500 billion. Are you really that stupid?

  • @infinityand0 I met over 500 million, I lose track after our National Debt is in the trillions and growing by billions a day, due to government over spending.

  • @2caminos did you want to comment on the actual content of the video, or did you just want to rant about other issues? Solyndra was a bad mistake, but only because due diligence was not invoked and officials did not see that China was going to out perform them in the market. that's because they are way ahead of us in alternative energy. They subsidize solar 20 times more than do we. Now, how about telling me where I am wrong in the video?

  • I don't believe the Fed Government should be interfering in the free market, that is where economic bubbles come from & they eventually burst, take for example what is happening in the Europe. Governments over spending, causing them become nearly insolvent, constant bailouts, austerity & riots. When the USA defaults, there isn't enough money in the world to bail us out. Pensions will be cut as the US defaults, city people dependent on welfare will see their benefits cut, RIOTS & WAR will come.

  • @CapoStudios I have not presented a positive argument that claims that we should not drill for "homegrown" oil. All I have presented is an argument that brings forth the reality that steeping up production in the manner prescribed in the media will do nothing to affect prices at the pump. If you would like to explain to me your argument that circumnavigates these facts, I am open to hear you.

  • No, I can see that obviously. However, we cannot deny that drilling for homegrown oil will do more good than bad both nationally and internationally. Face it.

  • @CapoStudios Try making some coherent sense, and perhaps we could discuss things rationally. The whole point of the video is to show that you can't just look at the supply side of the equation, and certainly not such a narrowly focused one as is portrayed in the media, by politicians and commentators.
