If the product is certified Microsoft Windows Vista compatible, it should work flawlessly WITHOUT these "could help" -tricks and tweaks. I know some of these tips are good all around tweaks for performance and stability in sound recording, but the real problem IS STILL in the driver. I get stuttering and snaps/clicks randomly with my UX1, and I KNOW they are not performance issues concerning my Vista settings or hardware incompatibilities.
the problem is you pc, not the program. If you want a program to run correctly you must have the pc running in tip top shape.
