I love the relationship between Jack and Desmond, but I wish they had kept it up during seasons 3, 4, and 5. Their ending was good in season 6, with the cork, light and the aftelife, but I think they should have been as much emphasis on the relationship between the two throughout the show as there was between Jack and Locke. And the same for Locke and Desmond, because they showed a lot of potential in the season 2 premiere and finale. I consider them the three central characters of the show.

Well In the finale, Desmond and Jack both have to "lift it up" in reference to the islands "Cork" And seeing as how the way Desmond delivers this line here, always seemed like it was hinting at something more.
