Call of duty made the great revolutionary step with the multiplayer, but WAW had a superior atmosphere, music (GOD, I (L) Shaun Murray), and feeling. WAW was about the real war and survival! It showed the dark side of the war with it's brutallity while in other COD games, everything was about the heroic bullshit propaganda.

i like COD4 just because to me it has better game play (and possibly cuz i hate WW2 games)
