The Mew Glitch: Part 3- The Extended Version (Catch Any Pokemon!!!)

Here is part three of my Mew Glitch series. This version is the most useful, as it allows you to catch ANY POKEMON IN THE GAME! First off, you are going to need a hex list. I have a link at the bottom of the description. Find the Pokemon you want to catch on the list, take note of its Decimal Value, and make sure you have a Pokemon with a special stat equal to that value. For example, my Aerodactyl in this video has a Special of 98, which is the Decimal for Omanyte, which is why one appeared for me. Okay, onto the directions.

1)Preform the Gambler trick, A.K.A. Fly away from the Gambler, or what ever Trainer you are using, before he sees you.

2)Fly to an area with an undefeated Trainer. The Elite Four WILL work, it just takes longer.

3)Defeat the Trainer.

4)Fly to an area with wild Ditto. In R/B, this is just east of Fuchsia. In Yellow, you must head to the bottom floor of the Cinnabar Pokemon Mansion.
5)Allow the wild Ditto to transform into the Pokemon with the specific special stat.

6)Run away or defeat the Ditto.

7)This part is important. Make sure Ditto was the LAST POKEMON YOU FACED.

8)Fly to the area where you ran form the Trainer.

9)As soon as you enter, the Start Menu will pop up. Press B.

10)The battle will start with a the Wild Pokemon of your choice!


This means that even you the Cerulean Gym Swimmer and the Slowpoke Youngster are defeated, you can still get Mew without restarting your save file! Just use a Pokemon with 21 Special.

Here are some useful Pokemon this glitch can be used for:

The Legendary Birds (Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos)
Mewtwo
Mew
Snorlax
Pokemon not available in your version
Pokemon that evolve by trade (Gengar, etc.)
Starters (Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur)


If you are using Pokemon Yellow, bring an Escape Rope! Use it immedietly after the Ditto fight to leave the Mansion!

This glitch can also be used to catch the elusive Glitch Pokemon and battle Glitch Trainers, but those are for my next two vids ;)

Will the "Gambler Trick" work on any trainer? I've beaten every trainer except for the ones on victory road.

Is their a certain quality a trainer has to have/somthing you need to do before hand?

@Jackimole It only works with trainers who see you as soon as you walk onto the screen. For example, that specific Gambler will see you anywhere in his line of sight, so he will battle you as soon as you appear on screen. Other trainers may not see you until you get closer, so it will not work. I don't think anyone in Victory Road will work, so you may be out of luck.

@DARKcpu0 You need to have a pokemon with a special stat of 131, I believe

Then have the ditto copy that pokemon.

The easiest way to do that is to have a different pokemon in front, and then switch when the battle begins; hope that helps you

so, technically I could catch 3 eevees, then I could transform one into a flareon, another one into a jolteon and the last one into a vaporeon, right?

I followed exactly these steps except i caught a mew

and i too ran into a level 28 venonat first and than a 26 ditto

The Elite Four doesn't work... bceause the Trainer has to walk to YOU in order for the glitch to work. YOu can't talk to anyonre..... Also, he doesn't tell you that you can't use anything from your start menu so no, Surf won't work, niether will dig or an escape rope. The game thinks you are in battle so the only thing you can do is find whild pokemon. But that still doesn't end the glitch. It take a trainer to end the glitch. I've used this glitch to get missingno.'s in the past.
