I do this to see if too much oil is still loosely applied to poker chips.

  • Mineral oil or baby oil (mineral oil with scent). Real casino chips such as these made by Paulson are made to ingest oil from players hands. Over time the colors pop out to a vibrant level. When you buy a very dirty retired casino set you usually have to clean thoroughly with dish soap and toothbrush on a per chip basis (pain in the neck). With this some of the luster is lost with oil removal when cleaning. So, lots of people will re-oil to get them popping again.

  • Try laying them out on a towel with a fan on them after you have used a rag to clean off any extra oil! Leave them for a day, flip the other side, and you should be good to put back in racks. Check out Pokerchipsonline for your own custom clay chips! (ASM) Atlantic Standard molding chips. ChipTalk.net is a great time waster as well!

  • @xxxxx3765 Helps preserve the chip, it's clay and clay will dry out

  • What do you "Oil'" them with ?? and why, whats the benefit??
