You have to be a really mean fucker to bash the head in of an animal like this just so you can tear its coat off.
Then again I have literally never met not 1 sealer who wasn't a total asshole within the first few seconds of meeting him.

What was wrong with him and why did he need rescuing?

@WaxItYourself This video was shot a few years ago, so it's hard for us to go back and identify this pup's problem. Our rescue team will get calls from citizens who see a pup on the beach, we'll evaluate each situation and determine if the pup is in distress. Often pups alone on the shore are fine and they are left alone. If they are sick or very malnourished our team will rehab them.

@VancouverAquarium Oh okay. I watched a video of a seal pup on wreck beach recently and decided to look into why it would have been on the beach and read that often parents leave their pups on the beach so they can go hunting then go and pick them up at a later time. I've got a whole bunch of questions about this particular incident such as what happened to the pup when it was healed and so on that i'm sure would be unanswerable too lol.
