Continuation - Shows a method of hand grinding blade core preforms on a basalt slab using chert flakes and gravel. Blades are then removed using an antler tipped chest crutch

  • seems like an excellent setup to run flutes off of cumberlands. may have to give this a shot

  • @jamieknaps I have used this setup with folsoms, but anything longer really requires a lot of force...

  • What do you do with all of the blades? Seems like you make a significant amount of them.

  • @archeryman5000 I save the straighter ones for tool use...aztec or mayan swords, etc.

  • on the crutch things are u just like leaning on top of them and pressing on the core?

  • @ashnbrandon1 Yes, I'm just using my body weight to apply pressure, then pulling in on the crutch to get the crack started....
