Simply...there's nothing cooler then this Jam! : ) In addition...the piano solo is so intense, I barely stand it, every note hits like bricks, If I may mention his name ...Elvin Jones is Kung Fu with sticks, the bass holds it all! : )

This is only an opinion but I think Paul Chambers was Coltrane's best bassist

Tony Brown used to play this song on WDAS's (Philadelphia) Sunday Jazz Brunch back in 80's. Very powerful Song.

Philly in Da House! Though it was well known that Tony brown loved jazz, I don't remember him playing "Equinox" for any of his programming. That said, I would not be surprised. LOL

The intro is mighty! Workman and Tyner frames this cut while Jones gives background and Trane' tells the story. Simply Marvelous!
