With thanks to Phoenix Channel 11 for permission for its use, the Grandma was Green presentation was broadcast to 350,000 households daily for 4 or so weeks during May and June of 2010. The goal of the lecture was to demystify green, show it is a well-established part of our culture and to showcase the worthy green projects in Phoenix Arizona.

  • Bravo George!!! You are taking the lead in educating us about this "new" moment.

The scarity of resources is making many rethink their "easy come, easy go" attitude.

The earth resources are finite yet mankind treat those resources like they are infinite.

Corporations activity in misusing resources has brought that reality to us.in the most profound ways. continue sharing to those who care. juniques multicultural connections applaud you.

  • This is informative and necessary to understand. African-Americans have been living greener for a very long time. With or without times of national economic depression, downturn or recession ,we historically have been making the most of what little we have. How green our Grandmas, et al were ! Now we can return to to that ingenious mode of thinking for ourselves. In the words of the scientific father of the 'green' movement , G W Carver, Ph.D., "Where there is no vision, there is no hope" .

  • The message was relatable, fantastic and is a personal challenge to all of us! What have you done today to be a little more green or help provide a more sustainable environment? Every day we all have choices to make along the way. Things as simple as turning off the light switch when not in the room. The bigger picture is we all are in a survival mode, for our environment and our well being is at stake.

  • If he cut to the chase this would be more interesting. Besides, Grandma didn't have a choice. She had to be frugal and efficient if she was going to survive. I mean, Christ! IT WAS THE GREAT DEPRESSION!!!
