This was the first season of a losing stretch for the Pack. It would not be until the 1990s they consistently contended again.

I can remember, as a 10 year old kid, watching this game on television with my dad. Great ending!

The exquisite Gale Sayers 1 game before his fatal knee injury which allowed him only 1 more good but not great season to come. This is Nov 3, 1968 Action and he peels off a 63 yard scintillating run during this contest and his record 205 yard game against the defending Superbowl Champs the Packers.

Didn't the Bears win this one on a long free-kick field goal at the end? Might have been the last time such a kick was successful in an NFL game.

@GabeWayne - Yes. I'm uploading the ending now. Nice call, that's exactly what happened.

@worldhistory2012 Looking forward to seeing that,as this was (unfortunately) way before my time. The only attempt I can ever remember was that Neil Rackers groundball from a few years ago.

@GabeWayne - I like this largely because I became a Bears fan sometime around 1967/68. Both Sayers and Butkus played at that time. I recall 1969 being a particularly bad year for the Bears, they finished the regular season 1-13. When Sayers was injured I quit following the Bears and started liking Dallas.
