Stromstad Brass Festival 2009 - Kristinehamns and Tranås Brass Band marching in the town!

Stromstad Brass Festival the 9th April 2009 was arranged by Salvation Army in Stromstad with leader Tom Pettersen. Tranås and Kristinehamn Brass Band was invited this year. The day started with a march in the centre of Stromstad, followed directly by concerts in the Town Park.
Afternoon Concert in Stromstad Church with the two bands and even a country band from Norway, "Country Comfort". The concert was presented by Carl Axell, The Tourist Profile 2009 in Stromstad.
The big final "Rhapsody in Brass" was hold in the High School Chapel. Even Bethlehem Church Brass Band from Gothenburg participated in the evening event. A special guest was invited to the Brass Festival - Bandmaster Erik Silfverberg from Denmark. He was honoured for his big work for Brass Band Music for Salvation Army!

A Salvation Army Band and, one would presume soldiers, parading OUTSIDE the citadel. What a marvelous idea! Wonder if people will notice....
