00:06:23 - Baucus asks if the clarifications underlined the markup... "Mr. Chairman I, I'm afraid I don't think it's appropriate for me or the CBO to judge what the committee thought it was agreeing too." -Douglas Elmendorf

We here are trying to determine now if all Democratic politicians are given to spewing untruths. In the beginning of the video, Kyl asks Elmendorf if he is aware of a technical corrections document dated 10/05 "Circulated 3 days after the committee finished it's work." Sneaky Max should have reconvened the committee to address these so called "technical" issues.

America had better pay attention!! There is a small dust-up between Elmendorf, Kyl and Baucus as Max the Tax master tries to defend his scurrilous, behind closed doors activities. In this video Senator Kyl speaks to the issue of some duplicitousness and number fidgeting. This caused the committee to vote on a markup with technical corrections proposed by staff, while the mark was before committee. Not good.

Thank God for Sen Jon Kyl.The proposals are baffling to the Senators and the CBO. If they can vote on a bill without even reading them, isn't it time they all get their walking papers. U.S. Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl quizzes Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf during the Senate Finance Committee's markup of the Baucus conceptual health-care reform bill. Kyl's questioning revealed that the CBOs estimated cost of the bill was incorrect, because it was not indexed for inflation due to the fact that aspects of the bill were changed by the Democratic staff that the committee had not voted.

Sidebar - "Republican" Senator Olympia Snowe voted for this bill, but said she was not locked in. Let's give her a call. Olympia Snowe R-ME - (202) 224-5344
