I find it hard to believe we even bothered arguing about this, but at least you were the voice of reason.

I am an Electrical Engineer. I notice some who feel superior, but most of those are still in college or just graduated.

In a society, Engineers are critical, but so are Artists, Musicians, Cooks, Nurses, Accountants, etc. Even the workers at local book store or coffee shop. Without the other professions, Engineers are useless. There would be no culture, life would be boring. We all complement each other to make life better for modern society.

erm by just reading all these comments about engineers being the best makes me think they can be really ... sad/pathetic ... i mean, people need engineers, but engineers need people too ... there's no way only engineers can establish some kind of civilization, no matter how smart they are ( and yeah let's face it, engineers are smart, but that doesnt mean only engineers are smart does it? )

Why wouldn't mother cry? He should be an investment banker. Completely screw it and the US treasury will come running for rescue and bonus.

They used chinese Gaussian copula like magic, and no one flunks them let alone grilling for responsibility.

Nothing against investment bankers, but as a counter-point to what you say, engineers make things, and make things work. We need people like that. The fact that Dilbert's mom and the trash man (the man playing the "doctor") think this is horrible is what's funny. Reminds me of Loud Howard: "Let's all give up and become an agrarian society!!"
