It is truth J.P was a Jew.
But saying he was a Pole with jewish ancestry is closer to the truth.
And logically if something is closer to the truth it must be further from the lie.
So dont be ashamed to be closer to the truth Mavra.

@amatininkas Anyway, let's enjoy this beautiful music and lyrics. Greetings.

@karkarola The truth is, I was a bit harsh to make such statement. It's a thing to debate. There are few theories. First, there is a theory that, Utomlennoe solntse, was created earlier by a hungarian composer. That's how Dolskis could have heard it. Second. Utomlennoe solntse, was only recorded in 1936, but was created much earlier. Third, that Dolskis recording is truly a recording of another lithuanian singer - Šabaniauskas. And so on.

@mavra1910 Both parents of Petersburski were Jewish? Jew didn't mean not-Polish :-) It was great that polish Jews could live in Poland and make such beautiful music, poetry (Gold, Aston, Tuwim, Brzechwa, Nora Ney). Pity, that September that year stopped it...

@amatininkas Where did you get this info? Dolskis was just a singer but composition is by Petersburski. If it's Dolskis, can you tell me the source, please? I'm curious.
