here's a fun fact for you guys the guy voicing kobayakawa is the same guy who voice's l in the anime death note notice the irony
-
That's what happens sometimes when heritage determines who is the ruler. Kobayakawa was an easy to manipulate fool who just so happenly Mitsunari tasked him with the southern curve of his formation to encircle Ieyasu. Kikkawa on the other hand knew as even the late Hideyoshi's wife had knowledge of who would win when the dust settled. Mitsunari should have killed Tokugawa when he had him in Osaka castle. The perfect opportunity wasted and Tokugawa escaped undetected.

@jumpingdan In the end tho he went insane after he chose to destroy his own family. The irony of that honestly, he went to save his family and in the end destroyed it.

Kobaykawa was a little prick and I enjoyed beating him in this game, as well as killing him in Samurai Warriors II.

reason why kobaykawa sided with east is simply, duirng the imjin war kobaykawa messed up big time and mitsunari said to hideyoshi that he should kill himself but tokugawa stood up and said hes just a boy doing a mans job and that he should be spared, at one point kobaykawa was heading to tokugawa to side with him but mitsunari stopped him saying that 'your betraying your own family and that tokugawa will simply make a fool out of you' this worked but he still remembered that tokugawa saved him

@musashix Kobayakawa and Kikkawa hated Ishida like Fukushima and other eastern leaders that's the main reason for their defection

Even though Mitsunari hates ambushes, another good idea is to have Otani placed in in ambush, as he has a high intelligence rating. Since Fukashima is likely to attack first, Otani's spear tactic will instantly destroy Fukashima's horse unit even if he manages to survive the ambush. I loved doing that since watching the same thing done to the English cavalry in "Braveheart."

damn why didnt i think of that... i run around with ishida with an army on 700 soldiers or 25 and i had to hide behind him
i beated all tokugawas generals then i attackd him with all my soldiers but then reinforcements came and i got ass whooped :(

It's not as simple as that. Sometimes he will defect as soon as the battle starts and Kobayakawa wasn't the only one who defected at Sekigahara. Mori, Kikawa, Ogawa, and many small units either defected or agreed not to interfere with Tokugawa. Easily half of Mitsunaris army was secretly in league with or at least had sympathies with Tokugawa.

If you want Kobayakawa ordered to do something just make the command opposite of what you want and his disobedience will actually work in Ishida's favor. In War Council I placed Kobayakawa's unit in front of Ishida to act as a shield so the Eastern Army had no choice but to fight him first.
Kobayakawa's face looks like the Noh masks that are used in Japaneses plays...

Hideyoshi's nephew of all people. It's kinda sad how many close people betrayed him after death

so Mitsunari,Kanbei, and Yukimura are the main villains of Kessen 1?
karleichholtz13 5 years ago
Yes. First you play from Tokugawa's perspective, then you can play from Mitsunari's and the others.
