Yoga Studio Be: Office Live Small Business Customer Story

Lisa Christian first got involved with yoga when she was pregnant with her first daughter. She took a stretching class in the basement of a hospital in downtown Chicago. After one class, she knew it was yoga. After a few classes, she knew it would be part of her life probably forever. And one of the reasons that Studio Be, our yoga studio, came to happen is that she does yoga so that she can be the best person she can be. She realized that she wasn't just opening a space to teach classes - she was creating an experience for people. She wondered how to you reach people and tell them about what you're doing. Before she even signed the lease for the space, she was thinking about how she was going to build a web site, how she was going to have an online presence. A friend sent Lisa a link to Office Live Small Business. She clicked on the link and started playing around. Before she knew it, she had created a little sample web site. In the meantime, she was contacting web design companies and realized that as a small business owner, it was going to be a pretty large amount of money that she didn't have to spend. Office Live Small Business allows her to manage all content on her web site. She is on there almost daily to update information. That would have been a huge ongoing cost. She currently gets about 70-75% of her business from the web site. When there are weather issues and the studio has to be closed or a class has to be canceled, she can put that information on the web site. She isn't relying on anyone else to communicate with her customers - she can do it herself. It isn't something she can spend a lot of time on. If it were cumbersome or difficult to do, she wouldn't do it.
