This was supposed to be a 10 minute short film about a kid being brought up by his grandparents being shaded by an alcoholic father and bullied at school. On the final day of the original shoot, the kid actors were attacked by "real street thugs" -the shoot was cut short and I as the Director/Producer found myself at the Marrickville Police Station filling reports of the incident. The shoot was postponed a few weeks.
On the day of the re-schedule reshoot, the headmaster of the school we were going to film in called to cancel as the location was being locked off by the Police as the scene was now taped in as a possible homicide.
We had lost the main location of shoot, all establishing shots/scenes had to be redone and we only had a couple of hours left before we lost the actors again.
Myself and the amazing crew got our tired brains together in the attempt to finally complete this film - and attempt we did.
The final product is what i have now, an edit of a vid with music from Kings of Convenience, title track: little Kids.
I've stayed away from Directing since, coming on board on future works as producer.
Congratulations zuhun, loved it.
