Some of my images of Glastonbury Tor, England, with two pictures showing an unexplained paranormal event.

During February 2007, as I was walking in Wellhouse lane, below the Tor, and after noticing that the birds had suddenly gone silent, I looked up at it and saw what you see; a sort of "WHITE BLOB" gliding/floating around on or near the summit.
I have placed the original photo., and a cropped enlargement here, seen in the last two images.
You can clearly see that it has the shape of a head & shoulders of human form, perhaps wearing a cloak, though that is open to interpretation. It stopped for a moment when I took the image at 1/1000 of a second (on Auto.)
Latest theories about the Tor suggest it maybe a soul-portal, a gateway for souls to enter and leave our Earth.

The Tor has many legends attached to it, and undoubtedly has been used by man for over 10,000 years. It is a natural formation, but has been shaped by men, probably for an astronomical purpose.

It stands 518 feet over the surrounding countryside; the highest part of the Isle of Avalon, the modern Glastonbury..
Old British name Ynys-Witrin (glass island) or Ynys-Avallach.
*********************************************
Legends and myths abound here: that it is the home of the King of the underworld, Gwyn-ap-Nudd, and that the entrance to the underworld is here. Some have looked for that gateway, and still do. I have always thought that Gwyn-ap-Nudd's name seems a little too modern-Welsh, not Brythonic, the old language of the Celts; a mix of Celtic- Welsh, and Celtic-Cornish.
Any Celtic account of Glastonbury is a tale of the time when this place was a part of the Celtic country now known as Wales. One can't ignore the influence of Gaelic and the old Druidic language, Ogham, either, when looking at naming. Gwyn and Avallach, maybe the same deity, and possibly not male. Perhaps Avallach is "The Lady of Avalon?"
********************************
A legend speaks of the HOLY GRAIL being hidden in a secret chamber within; placed there by St Joseph of Arimathea. Another says that he is buried with the Grail in Glastonbury Abbey.
It looks highly likely that there are caverns and caves in or under the Tor, cut by the many streams which rise here; one tunnel is still in existence but is blocked by rock-fall.
Legends of tunnels from the Abbey and town still persist.
The Tower is the remaining part of the chapel of St. Michael, a dedication which is not uncommon, and one which the early Christians used to suppress the 'dark forces' used at places previously revered by their 'pagan' predecessors.

The original chapel fell-down in an Earthquake so the one you see is a 13th century replacement.
*********************************************************
THE ISLE OF AVALON .

The sacred Island ruled by the underworld deity, AVALLACH. The isle is named after that deity who was probably worshipped here. The name 'Avalon' is nothing to do with Apples.Translating "Avalon" into the "Apple Isle" is wrong and many philologists agree. However, the similar named "Avallon" place in Burgundy, France, IS named after apples, but there maybe an Avallach connection too.
Does the deposed demi-god, Avallach ,still walk his/her old domain, now called Glastonbury?

PARANORMAL:

What do we actually expect something "otherwordly" to look like? A wisp of smoke? A sharply defined solid object? Something transparent? An amorphous mass of light?
The image shown here has a sort of blue haze surrounding it in places.
It seemed to turned to face me for this image to be taken, if "Face me" are the right words, and at the distance that I was from it, it's difficult to tell. Does it indeed even have a face, or eyes?

There is symbolism to some of the images here: the four ancient elements of Earth, Air, Fire & Water are represented, but there is deeper meaning too, perhaps a warning.

With 2012 approaching, people all over the world may well report an increase in paranormal phenomena.

See Dan Green's web article about this phenomenon, as seen by me:

SEVENTH WAVE.
I have heard from Fran Elliott, the sister of Ken of Seventh Wave, who wrote and recorded the soundtrack "Premonition" used here.
The track is from the wonderful before- its-time album "Things To Come"
Thanks, Fran and Ken. Glad you like the video!

Best wishes to you!

  • I can't see a thing. Which image exactly should I look at to see the Man?

  • @sparkypainkiller

You aren't looking for a man, you're looking at a white shape.

See the last two images on the video, and both are clearly marked!

  • Anyone heard of Gwyn ap Nudd? He is a Celtic God and the Glastonbury Tor is his throne apparently. Thats quite cool, considering im related to him in name. (Tom Gwynne)

  • @TheManInTheWhiteHood

I think I mentioned Gwynne ap Nudd in the video notes. Gwynne is very Welsh of course, used as a personal and a surname in Wales.

  • Hey Mike! FANTASTIC!! As you know, I'm a fun of your photos, but those photos are just amazing. i especially like the one of the Tor gate with sunset with two people (around 1:03). Thanks for shring!

  • Hi Eriko.

Thanks for the note. Of course the whole point of this video was to show the "Spectre" which, when I saw it, was moving around on the Tor.

I deliberately walked the viewer through the door of St. Michael's tower, from the two people standing near to it, to the full Sunset image. Also, look carefully and you will see the four ancient elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water depicted. There is other symbolism in the video too, but I leave that to others to work-out.

    Mike.

  • I know that Glastonbury tor and the surrounding countryside is the most magical place in the World. I carry it with me and I can feel the energy even in Germany. I miss the Ash tree dryad and Gog and Magog . Would love to know if Gog is still alive as it has been 5 years since I was there?

Thankyou so much for sharing these images, you have captured Glastonbury's pure beauty ! :)

  • Yes this is a special place, we've lived here for 14 years and when we go anywhere even for 1 day, it's always lovely to drive back from any direction and see the Tor in the distance, getting closer and closer.
