What an amazing and cutting edge conference. I especially liked what the MIT guys said, sorry I can't remember your name, that the French teachers were afraid of loosing their students to the Spanish teacher, because she had started using Sims to teach the students French. Brilliant.

Indeed video games can be educational. There's a lot of works (ok, a few) coming out now about it. Google "video games and education" or "video games and [subject, math, ESL, etc] and you'lll get interesting reads.
