I managed to get the red one in the 2nd world but I never would have expected that this is how u get the blue gem. since the red gem was just flying aroudn in the level. I thought in crash 2 all the coloured gems r hidden somehwere in the levle. in part 1 I have 100%

no it isnt its easy all u have 2 do is keep slide jumping (or watever u call it)at the far right of the pit.

To get the blue gem, do the opposite of what you expect: Beat the level without getting ANY boxes.

As for skipping the pits, it's much easier to do on the left side, but failing that, rather than beating every rat, you can just stand near the edge on the side you'll jump out on, wait for a rat to come nearby, then jump on it and hold X (so you'll jump high), and use the boost to jump out of the pit. This one even works in the rat pits in the secret areas of Un-Bearable and Bee-Having.
