  • i love eating these. Also catching them, what lb line were you using?

  • used 15 lb line with a wire leader. gives them a chance and makes for a bit of fun

  • Launched from Crab Claw. It was our base for a week of fishing Bynoe Harbour. Didn't catch as many as we should have. Too busy stopping at the pub that was between our tent and the boat.

  • yeah threadies are sensational to catch and absolutely delicious. weipa is one place i have on my list of places i must fish.

  • Yeah i had problems with them chewing through leader material when i was in Karumba.

  • I use a similar weight, usually around 15lb too

  • Nice one!! Did you guys launch at Dundee or Crab Claw?

  • I lived in Weipa in the early 80s. Man, the fishing up there was something else then. We used to get big runs of Threadfins at the start of the wet season. A magical fish to catch - they go like the clappers. :O)
