  • I dont like it Because I lost the game ;-)

  • suntiger745 only a notivication.... the two wrestling styles of the olympic games are freestyle and greco-roman wrestling. Freestyle Wrestling is from Great Britain and Greco-roman Wrestling is from France. The modern wrestling style with the name ''Greco-roman'' is from France and had nothing together with the wrestling styles of the ancient Greeks...

  • Thanks for uploading! I've been looking for vids of Glima for some time, as I'm interested in it.

Good quality on the pics, and it's interesting to see how different it is from olympic*/greek wrestling. The belt adds a different dimension it seems.

*I think Glima was part of the olympic prgoram at one point actually, but it was dropped fairly early.

  • Wikipedia: Glima is a very old combative style. Certain evidence of glima dates back to the 12th century but some descriptions of wrestling in the Icelandic sagas and the Younger Edda makes it reasonable to believe that the system is much older. The core of the system are eight main bragd (techniques), which form the basic training for approximately 50 ways to execute a throw or takedown.

  • Interesting but what is it?
