@marlboroman244 Well said. This is the ECP coming in from Karaddah Square - North East of Baghdad. 3 Years in Iraq with more than a year in the IZ, "Green Zone" if you will.. always heard and felt aftershocks of car bombs going off. Ever climbed the stairs of the GRD Building and seen plumes of smoke emnating near ECP 1, 2 and 3? They were the closest to the British and a few other Embassies!! Your 4 years in the IZ seem like as if they were spent commuting between the PX, DFAC and your bunk.

OPSEC? The insurgents know more about the IZ than most anybody....the Iraqi people that live in or work the IZ give feedback to hits and there isn't a damn thing that can be done except play the odds. As we close the outlying fobs the rocket and mortar launch points will move in closer to the IZ for better accuracy....opsec should be more about NOT underestimating the intelligence of the enemy. something that the powers that be seem to be very good at doing!

I just left the IZ...no vbied lately...last time they tried to open the iz they got one and it will happen again since the IA run all the ECP's now. The ECP to the east or rather north east is ECP #1 just on other side of arch.....anyway the Iraqi's have re-numbered most of the ECP's...latest close in vbied seem to be directed at the Karada city side of victory bridge(green bridge).....the rockets now seem to be targeting the new embassy....old camp Jackson area!

4 years in the "green zone" and never ever saw a "car bomb" there !!! mortars and rockets (and even the rare suicide bomber)... Yes, but "car bomb".... No.... Get a grip ! and my job was to look for them....

It's just a video...Fritzy I'm sorry you never saw a car bomb but I wasn't there 4 years and I have hundreds of photos of suicide car bombs. Maybe you weren't looking hard enough

This was USA contractors...Blackwater which is the largest government security contact agency. Don't sell these guys short of any credit...alot of them are former military special forces with more extensive training than most military boys
