Red Dawn 2010: Royal Oak Location Set up

Ok I found the Royal Oak location. They are filming on the many drives off of Vinsetta Blvd. This is the sub to the south east of 12 Mile Rd. and Woodward Ave. This is a very nice neighborhood with very large homes. The roads are curved and the police have a large area shut down so it is hard to see much. I did see the pickup truck seen in the video dragging a Chinese pilot. On the other side of Vinsetta is a large catering tent for the extras. I believe this is for the U.S. troop extras. You'll see in the video the rack of military gear and all the hummers parked down the street. When I was there it looked like no filming was happening now but will be later this evening. They were doing a lot of set up and bringging out a lot of food.

I just hope they don't fuck it up like they did GI JOE.

When you have a movei as widley known and loved as RED DAWN, and you try to remake it. It's a big deal, you have alot of shti to get right, and just from the list of actors who play the main cast I am not impressed with any of it. if it ever comes out I'll go see it but I think they have realy fucked it up trying to make it better. You dont remake a better RED DAWN you just remake it as is.

and the american flag on the humvee is where if any invading force came to this country or another they'd use the weapons of that country against the defender, it would take to much time to completely re-paint all the equipment so the easiest thing to do is keep the the equipment as it was and just re-paint over the insignias, plus when bullets start flying it doesn't matter how they look as long as they work

@gumby511 well tanks do have road tracks that can be fitted instead of the all steel tracks the road tracks usually has more rubber in the joints of the links to create a cushion for the tracks so they both gain traction and also don't tear up the roads

wonder what the point of the American Flag on the Humvee is for. We are the only one that had them before we moved to the new model. Also do you know if they drove the tanks on the roads or just still shots as a tank would tear up the asphalt streets and crack concrete roads.

the tent was for everyone. we were on lunch break at the time. THey fed us GREAT food. and i mean GREAT. like a gourmet buffet lol.

they have the tanks set up right off of rochester between 12 1/2 mile now by the party store looked like where they were filming tonight.
