Let me be clear.. because in fairness my last comment was not. I am Atheist.

I am not only Atheist but I believe strongly in secularism, and think that for modern society it is crucial. You can be stupid and still not believe in god. How many stupid people do you know that believe in faries? It is not clever to be atheist, only .. in my opinion, a mistake not to be.

The truth is, it's been proven that prodominantly athiest countries have the best education rates and lowest crime rates in the world. I'm not making that up for my own convinience, it's a proven fact.

Religion does not bring about technological advancements. Einstein and all the great minds were athiests. The rest were closet atheists.

@DigitizedSoul I strongly dispute that. To be an athiest, you require intelligence, because you are rejecting a fantasy story. There is a difference between simply being a theist (which doesn't make you stupid), and being a Christian/Muslim. You see, every single story in the Quarran and Bible can be disproven. @ToaJoe Firstly, I should say there are plenty of stupid Atheists - just as there are some genius Creationists. Being horribly wrong about one thing doesn't invalidate your opinion about everything else.

Secondly, until recently I would suggest that most of our largest technological advancements have come from war. So there is a silver lining to religion :)
