Caught in the Act ( Filmed in 1991) - is the account given in John chapter 8:3 - 11 of a women who is caught in the act of adultery. I frame that story in the context of a corrupt and powerful deacon who sets up a plot to get rid of an incoming minister in his effort to take over control of the church.
The movie gives you a fly on the wall perspective of just how ugly dirty deal making and back-room politicking is. This movie is not for the faint of heart as it uses frank language to explore a range of issues including racial prejudice, discrimination, corruption, and sin in the church just to name a few.
When the systems that are supposed to help people begin to fail and hurt those they should be helping, you better believe that corruption and politics is in the mix somewhere, whither it is the church, a non-profit organizations, or the government.
Every power brokers whither real or perceived, would do well to heed this movies simple message. Stop the madness and do the right thing, it's time to go and sin no more.
