@djborden I would agree with you for the most parts, most cobra kits are not good on a road course with the exception of the FFR cobras. Especially the knew mark4's. They dominate the circuit with their cars. FFR built their first cobra for the track and everyone since then has been designed for the same reason. On their site, they will send you a free DVD which has a lot of great history about the car and the company. Love them!

what kind of engine is in that, it sounds great
-
the exhaust note of that car is almost orgasmic.

@Rockit181 actually... most ppl who have them as show cars do so to get really inexpensive insurance. i talked to a guy today who drives an 03 svt cobra and he only pays 160$ a year insurance full coverage because he has it listed as a show car. he cant drive it to work and only he can drive it and he can only drive it a certain number of miles per year but if he wanted to take it to the track or something he could. he let me ride in it and i almost cried haha it was amazing in every way

WOW - sweet driving right there!

Keep in mind that FFR's using just stock mustang parts aside from the ffr coilovers and rear control arms will pull over 1g on the skidpad on street tires. Most porches cant do that!

FFR's aren't considered the best autox cars because they are a bit too torque-happy for super tight twisties. You have to be really good at throttle control to keep them on the line.
Put a 300hp/300tq V8 in a Miata and you'd have the same problem. Point of the matter is a short-wheelbase car with 50/50 weight dist. at only 2300 lbs will get around some cones.

That's the longest straight away I've ever seen on an autocross.
Wow I honestly didn't expect that good of a driver. Most of the people who own these just have them for show and drag.

We have a few folks that are doing pretty well in these cars now. I agree though, most of these cars dont work well on track. This car made the podium at the 2002 SCCA Solo II Nationals!

Yeah, you're not kidding... wonderful place, we miss it big time! We've pretty much lost all our sites in the sacto region besides stockton... and its no Castle...

Most autocross courses, you shift into 2nd and leave it there. Some courses where speeds top 70mph require a shift to 3rd.
yep Castle AFB... Good eye!
