Thank you so much! I also had a "dead" battery and placed it in the usb port for charging. It did not charge (like yours). Also it took some time for the "ink" to come out of the tip when starting to write. Thanks for your review! It save hours of frustration!

@sofue30 That's a good question - I'm not sure myself, but I do know that there's a "distance limit" between pen and sensor and that some people on Amazon have mentioned having problems with anything over the standard 8x11 notebook paper size. I would say that 8x11 is a maximum range, and anything smaller than that is going to get better results.
