  • 1:18 people dont normally just open closed guard like that. but i like this technique

  • With his hips torqued like that and you digging in, I think you'll find that it pops right open.

  • @TechniquePrevails I try this often since I last saw it, but often they just deathguard me and don't let go with the legs. I tried moving to the side more but it didn't help. It was very tiring for both of us. Any tips on that? Thanks.

  • You must make sure that you are torquing the angle of his hips so that you are not in a straight line with him. If you look in the video, my opponent is wrenched sideways. Once you have achieved this, you must use your elbow (right one, in this video) to open the guard on his left leg. If you're having to force it too much, you're not doing it correctly.

  • @TechniquePrevails what can you do if he grabs the underhook after you pass? or is there a way to prevent this?

  • dude letting his wrist go is a huge mistake......Hold on to his wrist after you pass put a knee up on his belly, take full mount, than roll over for a Kimura submission. thats an easy submission or a shit load of points your missing out on if you let go of his hand.

  • @TechniquePrevails thats an awsome pass works on a higher belt ,ust wprk on lower belts hehehhe

  • I use this pass all the time, I thought it was just a Minnesota Wrestler thing. lol

I've even used it to chicken wing people from guard/half/side
