The Nortel Energy Efficiency Calculator proves that Nortel switches are an excellent platform for gaming networks. Or maybe it doesn't. We'll never know.
Although the very first version of the Energy Efficiency Calculator used figures for power consumption derived from spec sheets and testing under zero load, it has since been updated with real-world data from both the Cisco/Miercom and Nortel/Tolly tests which both tested power consumption under real-world loads and also factored in power required for cooling etc.
With the updated data, there's still the same order of energy savings for Nortel vs. Cisco...

I'm sure Nortel is using a lot of triple integration and Fourier's equations when U r doing these tests ... poor guys
