I think the IAFF is gearing up to help Obama get re elected. They see the writing on the wall; especially since Obama is ready to write off white working class voters. Their words not mine.

I grin at some of the anti FF comments. I wish like hell I could sit around the station more.  Let some of those jokers run 5 ems calls and a possible fire after midnight during a 24 hour shift. Almost 4,000 calls a year. Hell, I'd love to run a lot less.

IAFF member here. I don't want to be accused of being a Glen Beck fan, but I saw the original piece that the IAFF used from the Glenn Beck show. He was talking about how many firefighters do you need to pay for the Ponzi style pension plans that some localities have.

I'll leave you all with this: County firefighters in Republican leaning counties have their salaries and benefits more secure than those firefighters that work in the cities with Democrat leadership.

funny when I was in class, they told us didnt matter if people were burning alive inside, if there is ANY risk of a firefighter getting hurt, you CAN'T go in. You are NOT even allowed to be a hero, but they still get called that. Wonder why they are concerned with response times? Insurance companies rank them, which has impacts on local businesses........they are the bitches of the insurance companies and groups such as FEMA. Slave bitches, communist workers. yes, heroes.....rarely.

Less talk, stop paying fireman see how fucking many stick around? Their job is NOT that dangerous. Stop sending out those gubment chex, see how many HEROES stick around. Less than 1/10,000 maybe? @HomeEnergyNow Not Heroes? My dad is a firefighter who is paid and he is a hero, and I'm not just saying that because he's my dad. Most of the guys that work at my dad's station have dedicated their lives to saving others. Granted their is always that one who is just in it for the money, they risk their lives to save others. Many of my dad's colleagues were once volunteers as he was also, but needed money to support their life. How do you feel about those who died in 9/11? They were paid firemen

@Spaulding347 I guess instead of helping people 8hrs a day every day providing them with shelter and food we should sit in a building downtown and wait for somebody to have a fire! LOL Anybody getting paid to eat and sleep can STFU when it comes to helping.
