  • Sounds pretty normal to me.

  • Yes there's a pretty noticeable sound when the ring focuses from the closest distance to infinity. Like screw noise.

Try other copies of the lens from where you bought it, see if its normal.

  • It's sigma enough said!!!!

  • I've heard this lens before and its really loud when changing the aperture. Would be brill otherwise.

  • Very quiet.

  • @orhiannono 18-55 canon. Sound drove me up and over the canon wall to sigma

  • @skinVISIBLE Hmm, what kitlens are you using? My nikon kit lens is like 10 times less noisy...

  • Quiet compared to the kit lens

  • i have the nikon mount and it is much faster and quieter than yours. I would send it to Sigma under warranty to be checked.

  • The focussing seems really slow! Pretty quiet though.

  • Sounds normal.

  • It sounds like the ribbing on the barrel is rubbing on the blanket/sheet it's sitting on. Could that be what you're hearing?
