Well, this is another video showing the visual side of the career of a musical artist. Basically, I show about 20 seconds from each music video that he released between 1966 and 1987. I avoid ordinary live performances. The second part will comprehend his later career. David Bowie has a lot of classic songs, and, well, in my opinion two-three slightly annoying ones (like Fashion). He started with music videos incredibly early on, in the 60s, as they didn't become truly mainstream until the 80s. I'd say that it's very interesting to see how he has changed and adapted himself to the different times that he's worked in.
NOTE1: I do not, in any way, own the material used in this video!
NOTE2: Dancing In The Street isn't an original song. It was originally recorded by the soul group Martha & The Vandellas in 1964.

  • I really liked this video. I was looking for all of the music videos that David Bowie did. Just to let you know though David also made music videos for "Let Me Sleep Beside You" and "Oh! You Pretty Things."

  • @durcysaloon Well, yeah, but those kind of challenge my idea for a music video, as I didn't want just performances. John, I'm only Dancing is mostly just a performance of the song, but it still features interesting clips. I've been kinda sleepy here on youtube lately, haven't really read the comments too much.

  • Sorrow- there are 2 different versions i've seen

  • The other Bowie number in Absolute Beginners is also worth including - theres a few decent 10 sec clips to chose from /watch?v=hVYHI1T0PGo

  • How many pairs of socks was that down the front of your tights on the 'Rebel, Rebel' video, David? (We know from Nick Roeg's film 'The Man Who Fell to Earth' that your endowment is perfectly 'normal')

  • There's a good case that everything in the Bowie oeuvre prior to the album 'Space Oddity' should be ignored, and if I could delete every copy of 'Laughing Gnome' on the planet, I would.

  • Cool vid. I wish he made more videos for his earlier stuff though

  • This is pretty awesome.

  • thank you for this :)
