Chanted by Byzantine Master and Professor of Byzantine Music Mr. George Papanikolaos from Samos, Greece.

Chanted in the Plagal of 4th Tone - Heptaphonic
This is chanted right after We hymn thee we bless thee....etc. .(Anophora-Liturgical Responses...check out other video that goes before this one to complete this clip) during the petitions and responses of the Divine Liturgy of the Greek Orthodox Church.

It is Truly Meet to call Thee Blest, the Ever Blessed and all Immaculate and Mother of Our God. More Honorable than the Cherubim and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim. Thee who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word the Very Theotokos, Thee do we Magnify.

  • you should say Hristos Anesti everyday! Christ has risen and is forever risen. Our faith rests upon the words Christ is Risen for truly Christ is Risen and will return.

  • Christos Anesti!!!!!!!

  • Yes I'm Greek, I agree with you that it sounds weird, and I only say when its Anastasi and the 40 days proceeding it. But if someone wants to say it it doesn't really bother me.

  • yh i agree with you i know what you mean but im talking about our traditions.. are you greek? orthodox people say it when Jesus is risen no every day it would saound weird to others aswell

  • Saint Seraphim of Sarov used to say Hristos Anesti everyday. He would greet everyone who visited him with "HRISTIS ANESTI" first. I disagree with you. Hristos Anesti can be said any day of the year, for our faith is based upon the Resurrection of our Lord and the heavenly kingdom to come.

  • hristos anesti lol tora to leme!!!!!

  • you should say hristos anesti in one month not now

  • I love Papanikolaus' voice!!! Cristos Anesti!!!
