  • So let's say you're listening to the radio and record songs you like, then make a copy for a friend, that you will be charged for piracy? There are countless other methods of attaining copyrighted material without means of profit, which is not piracy, piracy is described as the act of copying, reselling and profiting from copyrighted material.

  • @frankyg2384

That is the belief most people go by. But I think the government is working to stop that.

  • We have to make a stand. Good upload. Liked your Area 51 sign btw.

  • After reading the bill, the only thing that I can see is it will hurt the hones man, that's it. I do understand that there are lots of abusers out there, however they are going about this completely the wrong way. if they really wanted to lessen the piracy out there, they should really make official channels. If the government sets up official channels and subsidizes fees that go along with it, people will swarm to it. most people dont want to break the law but why pay an outragious company fee?

  • @Spunter11

"most people dont want to break the law but why pay an outragious company fee?"

    Exactly.

Sites like Napster didn't help though either. Providing free content in the beginning. Making people think it's okay it's just one song.

  • It didn't pass in the US and I'm sure we, the Canadian ppl, will not let this travesty be committed!!! If someone buys a DVD and it being their property, they should be allowed to share it, as long as no one is profiting from doing so, it shouldn't be a problem

  • @MoreBankrBailoutsPLZ

Yeah and they also want to increase usage of digital locks.

  • @GodlessManitoban it only sucks in that I'd have to start renting movies again, torrents would be screwed I think

  • @MoreBankrBailoutsPLZ

Looks fine, but I don't think it really is.
