  • What's the best way to practice timing in your opinion? Great job, love the video :)

  • Working with the drum machine, doing difficult beats like the cha-cha!! I would love to have a live drummer, but the machine is cool!!! Also starting with whole notes then half then quarter then eighths...ect it gets VERY hard past 32nds!!! If it is difficult, start slow, lots of reps then speed it up!!!

    Thanks for viewing!!!

  • yeah man. like the sound of this bass. I put together one (I'm in this phaze right now where I just wanna build not buy.) but I put a mexican fender rosewood neck on a two piece swamp ash body. In some respects in KILLS but I really want that look and sound of the 70's jazz with the block inlays. those necks are expensive though

  • Man thats talent and experience to build, but you know you might come out with a hybrid BEAST!!! Then we'll be seeing you in bass player magazine!!!!!lol on 2 of my vids I have a player by the name of Theo Harden. He strips any guitar he gets down and rebuilds and paints them!!! On the vids he has a grey Conklin that he has upgraded the pickups(it already had bartolini's on it and he adds a midi connect to it!!!! At his house he has a junkyard of old parts!!! Keep up the good work!!!

  • :-) yeah man. YOU TOO! I really dig that bass you're playing in this vid. Mine is just a raw chunk of swamp ash with some tung oil on it. it's my "beater" or workhorse bass. I won't freak out if/when it gets a ding in it!

  • It is a ken smith proto-j 4!!! I had it for three years now and the set up has not changed!!! its perfect, and the harmonics are clear as a bell. I do indeed freak if anybody gets close to either one of my basses, I can't stand dings!!!!!

    Thanks Bro!!!
