yes. well we have to leave a certain amount to the Lord. Faith is one of those things, though I think there are people gifted on this earth to enrich the faith that is already in peoples hearts and make it burn. Other than that the message is pretty straightforward in my opinion. That's why we have great men of God who can do that

i should also remind you that Paul preached an 'UNKNOWN GOD' to the people of Athens, and he presented to a people who nothing about nothing, and started there with them, teaching it in a way the gentiles understood it relating it to their pagan system (abolishing it).

so the way we present the message can definitely change i think, but I know at the name of Jesus all knees will bow and tongues confess, the challenge is in adapting the language in a way people can understand.

Togo: salvation 2)
A few times other words are used besides belief/faith. Jn 1:12 says "receive Him," then defined as believing.

Repent = change of mind (not primarily feeling sorry) is used. The change of mind which saves is one from not trusting Christ/trusting one's own works, to trusting Christ.

Saving faith is not merely being convinced of facts (demons are convinced of facts) but depending upon, trusting in Christ. All Christians experience the great miracle of the new birth by faith.

You are one of the deceived the bible speaks of. You see no wrong in changing Gods word. You dont care that they didn't get every word right in your bible. That says it all. In reality, you just showed that you know nothing on this subject, NOTHING. You made several people mad today and won nobody to Christ. Yea keep sticking foot in mouth and keep your system of doing things as it is evident it doesn't work. I got no more time to argue with self righteous fools.

well thankful this is how I see it. You can make it very complicated getting down to the hebrew.

But I fail to see much purpose in this, most people don't see a difference between the words your using the way you do, all they know is that there is a God, and you are introducing a man called Jesus to them.

Yes we have to repent and all that, but I think the message of repentance and confessing sins makes itself pretty clear in every translation. Don't you?

Togo, the usual word in the Bible for man's part in salvation is belief (pisteuo). Confessing sins is not a condition of salvation, tho if one trusts Christ as Savior, one must believe that one is a sinner (else why trust a Savior?). "Jesus is Lord" Is that necessary for salvation? One must have Him defined adequately, which includes as the God (YHWH) man, LORD in the sense that He is Jehovah. But promising to obey Christ as Lord wud be salvation by promised works. So, reject Lordship-salvation.

well

i come in here preaching the gospel the way I see it and I've accomplished nothing.

Do you see God working through you in saying I accomlished nothing? do you think thats something God would want his people to hear when preaching it?

If its not one thing with you its another. What kind of person tries to discourage the preaching of the gospel
