Due to the project me and my dad are working on (Almost finished!) I've had a flapper valve in my cistern for a while and there's no point in changing the fittings back to the normal ones when it's going to be finished soon.

So I've stuck a handle in the hole where the button was to activate the flapper valve! It works simply with a piece of wire tied to the other handle inside the panel. It's quite stiff to push down due to a lack of leverage on the inside handle, but it works, saves leaving the lid off!

Flush is good though, nice and powerful with a flapper valve. Scours the pan clean well too.

  • @ramdomness453 Well if only we could see through walls.

  • @jess1541 The actual sensor flush things made by companies can be bought from those sort of places, yep. My dad brought home an infrared sensor switch though, and we rigged it up to a water piston. I got it working last night, then it leaked so it's back to handle flush until I get a new fitting, but I have a video!

  • @ramdomness453 Where can you buy the sensors? From professional plumbing places? That would be interesting to have your own wave over sensor at home. I mean, how many other people have those?!

  • @jess1541 It's just because of a project me and my dad are working on, and we can't flush it otherwise! It'll be gone soon, we're making a wave over sensor flush.

  • The DIY concealed cistern looks cool. Just wondering, why put the handle in themiddle though?
